How To Export / Import Bookmarks in Google Chrome

Keeping your bookmarks organized is essential, whether you're switching devices or backing up important links. Here's a quick guide to exporting and importing bookmarks in Google Chrome.

Exporting Bookmarks in Chrome

  • Open Google Chrome on your computer.
  • Click the three-dot menu icon in the top-right corner.
  • Hover over Bookmarks, then select Bookmark Manager (or press Ctrl + Shift + O).
  • In the Bookmark Manager, click the three-dot menu again and choose Export Bookmarks.
  • Select a location on your computer to save the file as an HTML document, then click Save.

Importing Bookmarks in Chrome

  • Open Bookmark Manager using the same steps above (Ctrl + Shift + O).
  • Click the three-dot menu and choose Import Bookmarks.
  • Select the HTML file you previously exported.
  • Click Open — your bookmarks will be imported into a folder named Imported.
