Creating custom scripts for Windows 11 allows you to streamline setup, improve performance, and manage apps efficiently. This guide explains how to use the Win Script tool step by step.
What is Win Script?
Win Script is an open-source tool designed to help you build custom scripts for Windows 11. It includes debloat, privacy, and performance scripts, and lets you install your favorite apps in one click via Chocolatey, a package manager that automates software installation, or WinGet, An official package manager for Windows that allows installing and managing applications through unified commands.
Step 1: Access the Tool
Visit the Win Script website and click Get Started. You can download the desktop version or use the online version. In this guide, we’ll use the online version.
Step 2: Explore Available Options
Navigate through the tabs such as Tools, Debloat, Privacy, Telemetry, Gaming, Performance, and Miscellaneous. Select the tweaks that match your needs.
Step 3: Choose Applications
In the Browse Apps tab, select the applications you want to install. With the latest update, you can also enter a package name directly in the Enter Package field and click Add.
Step 4: Generate the Script
Go to the View Script tab to download your custom script as winscript.bat or copy it directly. If an app is available on Chocolatey but not listed in Win Script, search for “Chocolatey + app name” on Google. Copy the package name from the install command and add it to your script.
Step 5: Run the Script
Right-click on the winscript.bat file and select Run as administrator. The script will execute the tasks you configured.
Step 6: Use on Other Systems
You can copy the script file to the root directory of a Windows Installation Media (USB or ISO). After installing Windows, run the script from the installation media as administrator to apply your customizations.
Step 7: Restart
Once the script has finished running, restart your system to finalize the changes.
By following these steps, you can easily generate and run custom Windows scripts with Win Script, ensuring a smoother setup and better control over your Windows 11 environment.
