How To Enable / Disable USB Debugging on Android Devices

USB Debugging is a crucial feature for developers and advanced Android users, allowing deeper access for debugging and device management. Whether you're enabling it for app development or disabling it for security reasons, here's how to manage USB Debugging on your Android device.

Enabling USB Debugging

  • Open Settings on your Android device.
  • Navigate to About Phone and tap multiple times on MIUI Version or Build Number until a message appears, confirming you are now a developer.
  • Return to the main Settings page and locate Developer Options (this may be inside Additional Settings).
  • Scroll down and find USB Debugging, then toggle it on.
  • If needed, also enable USB Debugging (Security Settings) for advanced debugging features.
  • When prompted, verify and Allow USB Debugging on your device.

Disabling USB Debugging

  • Navigate back to Developer Options within the Settings app.
  • Locate USB Debugging and toggle it off.

Enabling USB Debugging can be useful for developers, but turning it off is recommended when not in use to enhance security.
